Abstract
736,949. Pneumatic conveyers. STAMICARBON N.V. Dec. 30, 1953 [Jan. 2, 1953; Nov. 28, 1953], No. 36230/53. Class 78 (1). Finely divided solids, e.g. catalysts dispersed on pulverulent carriers, finely divided ores, fine grained carbonaceous material, &c., contained in a hopper 1 are fed by a rotary delivery valve 2 into the casing 3 of a screw conveyer 4 which delivers them into a chamber 5 above a perforated plate 7 where they are fluidized by gas supplied by the pipe 6. This gas, with solid particles suspended uniformly therein, passes through the convergent top 8 of the chamber and the conduit 9 to a reaction space. The casing 4 may be connected to the chamber 5 by an upwardly inclined pipe.
