Abstract
736,679. Slings for hoisting loads. BROCKWORTH BUILDING CO., Ltd., HAWKSLEY, Ltd., A. W., [trading as HAWKSLEY CONSTRUCTIONS], and JONES, E. H. Nov. 5, 1952 [Nov. 5, 1951], No. 25835/51. Class 78 (4). A slab 22 is lifted by securing devices 20 carried at the ends of cables 19A, 19B, passing over pulleys 18 which may be adjusted along a beam 12 by which the slab is suspended. The slab may thus be turned, whilst suspended, from a vertical position to the horizontal position shown. Further cables 26 maintain the slab horizontal. The slab 22 illustrated is a prefabricated floor slab and cast integrally with it are channel members 21 which are secured by pins 24 to blocks 23 carried by the cables 19A, 19B. The blocks 17 carrying the pulleys 18 are secured by pins engaging in any of several holes 16 in a flange on'the beam 12. The pulleys 18 may be connected by shafts and may be of different diameters where one end of the slab is wider than the other.
