Class 78 (1) A filling installation for shaft conveyer arrangements of the kind having two bins 1, 2, the top openings of which are alternately closed and with which (seen in plan view) the feeding direction of the supplying means (e.g. tipper or endless conveyer) is at an inclination to the conveying direction of the bins, comprises a flat-surfaced supply shoot 6 positioned between the supplying conveyer means and the inlet openings of the bins and the sides of the shoot are so arranged that the initial quantity which flows into each bin at each change in position of the gates for the said openings is the same. Additionally, a vibrator or height-sensitive feeler device may be used.
