1,075,557. Endless conveyers. K. HASHIMOTO. Sept. 23, 1965, No. 40621/65. Heading B8A. The belt of an endless conveyer has interlocking teeth 34 along its sides to enable the belt to form a pipe which is guided by rollers 37, 38, the rollers 38 being grooved to receive a drive chain 33 which is secured to the belt 32 by bolts (55), Figs. 19, 23 (not shown). These bolts may be used to secure partitions (67) which are necessary when conveying material at steep angles or vertically. A head pulley 61 drives the chain 33. Feeding and discharging.-A loading hopper 60 has a spout (65), Figs. 5, 6 (not shown), which extends beneath an assembly 44<SP>1</SP> for bringing together the rows of teeth 34 on the edges of the belt. At the point of discharge 61, an assembly 44<SP>11</SP> disengages the teeth 34 and the belt is opened. A further assembly 44<SP>1</SP> closes the belt for its empty return run. Alternatively it may remain flat during this run, Fig. 25 (not shown). The belt may be corrugated to increase its flexibility, Fig. 20 (not shown).
