Abstract

732,398. Clips. GAYLORD PRODUCTS Inc. Feb. 9, 1953, No. 3604/53. Class 44. [Also in Group XIV] A pin curl clip comprises a pair of sheet metal jaws one of which has a pair of spaced, upstanding, parallel pivot portions, intermediate its ends, to co-operate with at least one offset bearing portion on the other jaw, and a resilient band surrounding both jaws in front of the bearing portion. As shown, the jaw 6 is slit at 88 and is bent to provide bearing portions 9 for pivot portions 12 on the jaw 7, a rubber band 16 yieldably resisting opening of hairclamping portions 13, 14 when handles 17, 18 are pressed together. In modifications, a single medial bearing portion is provided, or upper and lower jaws are slit to provide a pair of arcuate pivot portions and a pair of bearing portions respectively, or the upper hair clamping portion has a downwardly curved part which contacts the lower jaw in the centre of the curl.
