Abstract
730,702. Anchoring devices. HOLZMANN AKT.-GES., P. July 3, 1953 [July 5, 1952], No. 18540/53. Class 45. [Also in Group X] Reinforcement wires tc be pre-tensioned are arranged in several parallel layers separated from one another by a thin steel &c. plate and the pile is held between clamping plates which are urged towards each other by tensioned members acting perpendic. ularly to the planes of the layers. In one form wires tc be anchored against the face of the concrete structure are arranged in twos with plates between each pair having three bores through which threaded bolts pass so that by tightening nuts at their ends the assembly is compressed. Or layers of wires 3 separated by plates 4 may be gripped between pressure members 9 wires 10 being wound round the pile and wedges 11 being driven in after the wires 3 have been tensioned. Hydraulic &c. means may replace the wedges. The pile may be compressed before tensioning of the wires, a brief release of pressure during tensioning being effected e.g. by electrically heating wires 10 or the bolts of the first embodiment. The wires may be of oval or rectangular cross section or be ribbed.
