Abstract
728,216. Pile fabric looms. TEMPLETON & CO., Ltd., J. Feb. 25, 1952 [March 10, 1951], No. 5848/51. Class 142(2). In a gripper Axminster loom, the cut yarn ends extending from the supply are prevented from unwinding and from drawing back away from the grippers by two blade springs 10,11, the spring 10 biting into the yarn and the spring 11 preventing untwisting of the cut end. The springs are bent from a single piece of wire, which may be a beryllium-copper alloy, and have a portion 12 engaging the front edge of a block 6 on the yarn carrier. A spring clip 17, having a portion 19 forming a stop for the blade 10, is sprung into position between two of the blocks 6 and retains the members 10, 11.
