A collapsible box has battens 4 on end panels 3 engaged by battens 2 on side panels 1, rods 7 passing through holes in the battens 2, 4 and having tightening nuts to secure the sides and ends together. Pivoted plates 10 on the ends have apertures 11 for alignment with apertures in battens 6 on the top and bottom, bolts etc. being passed through the apertures to secure these in position. Strengthening battens 12, 13 and iron strips 14 may be fitted.
