Abstract

719,719. Drying granular material. RONDAN, J. A. Dec. 20, 1951, No. 29933/51. Class 34(2) In an apparatus for drying granular material liquid or finely divided solid fuel is ignited in a chamber 7 to obtain substantially complete combustion and secondary air .is passed over the chamber to mix with the combustion products and flow into the top part of a rotary drying drum 11 along the inner side wall of which the material is moved bv a helical rib 16 to an outlet and is dried by heat from the rib and wall which are heated by the hot gases. The combustion chamber 7 is mounted in a fixed drum 3 and fuel is injected by a means 8, air being blown around the chamber 7 by a fan 5 to mix with the combustion products and pass through a tube 10 into the upper part of the drying drum 11.
