Abstract
718,145. Dry shavers. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. May 6, 1952 [May 9, 1951], No. 11438/52. Class 131 A dry shaver head having a hair chamber, and a cutter rotating behind a shear plate, is provided with a rotatable ring having at least one aperture communicating, in a given position of the ring, with an aperture in the wall of the hair chamber, the ring clamping the shear plate against the end of the hair chamber and being secured to the shaver by means of a bayonet joint, which is formed by a projection on the ring. formed by a bent-over tag engaging an edge of the aperture in the wall of the hair chamber. As shown, a shear plate 2 and rotating cutter 3 are secured to a dry shaver by the inturned edge of a rotatable ring 4, a groove 12 and aperture 6 in the wall of the hair chamber 7 and bent over tag 10 on the edge of an aperture 5 in the ring 4 forming the bayonet joint. In the position of the ring in which the aperture 6 is closed the tag 10 rides up an oblique side 9 of a sunken part 8 which forms a prolongation of the aperture 6. In the position in which the apertures coincide for the evacuation of cut hair the tag 10 engages the portion 13 of the edge. In a modification the rotatable ring is integral with the shear plate.
