[Also in Groups XI and XIII] At least one pipe 1 conveying oil and enclosed within a chamber comprising a lining 2 of apertured metallic sheet or metallic network, e.g., perforated or slotted metal or expanded metal, and an insulating cover 3, is heated by means such as electric conductors 5 located within the chamber and in contact with the lining. The pipes may be supported by spacers or clips 4 to maintain the correct spaced relationship of the pipes, and sections of the wall of the chamber may be removable for access to the pipe joints 6.
