Abstract

712,144. Tumbler clothes driers. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. March 31, 1952 [March 30, 1951], No. 8131/52. Class 34(2) . A clothes drying machine comprising a cabinet 12 with a front access opening 21 therein, a door 22, a tubular casing 32 and perforated drum 38 has a throat and gasket member 80 including an annular sleevelike body 81 bridging the space between the portion 21b of throat 21 and casing front wall 33 and terminating in a flared lip 82 bridging the space between drum wall 39 and wall 33 and projecting into the drum 38 through and out of contact with the front opening 79. The body 81 has an annular slot 83 to receive and embrace the portion 21b and a gasket section 84 between throat 21 and ridge 77 on wall 33 to seal together the cabinet wall 13 and casing wall 33. A second hollow section 85 seals against the door 22. Specification 712,138 is referred to.
