[Also in Division D1] In a washing and spin-drying machine of the rotating drum-type an access opening 14 in the front face 12 of the liquid receiving chamber is closed by a door 16 which is slidable in guides 17, 18 and is sealed against the casing by an inflatable tube 24 surrounding the opening 14. The tube 24 is inflated by pressurized fluid, the source of which may be interlocked with a motor driving the machine so as to prevent the motor operating when the tube is deflated.
