[Also in Group XXVII] High-pressure air for scavenging an internalcombustion engine is supplied by two compressors driven from the engine crankshaft 6, each comprising two pairs of double-acting cylinders 34,34<SP>1</SP> and 35, 35'. Low-pressure compressed air is driven in through openings 31<SP>1</SP> and is delivered to a conduit 22. 36 and 37 are admission and discharge valves respectively.
