Abstract

704,469. Pulse generating circuits. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. April 4, 1952 [April 5, 1951], No. 7934/51. Class 40 (6) The duration of the pulses generated by a blocking oscillator is varied by variation in opposite senses of the coupling between the control grid of the blocking oscillator valve and sources of positive and negative feedback voltage. The Figure shows a blocking oscillator in which positive feedback is applied from the anode circuit to the control grid of valve V via the right hand section of the variable capacitor C1 and negative feedback via the left hand section so that on varying capacitor C1 the amounts of positive and negative feedback vary simultaneously and in opposite senses. The pulse'duration which is decreased as the positive feedback is reduced and the negative feedback is increased and vice versa may thus be adjusted by varying capacitor C1. The oscillator may be triggered by pulses applied at terminal A and output pulses may be taken from terminals 01, 02 or from the cathode or screen grid circuits.
