Abstract

692,231. Pulse generating circuits. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. March 30, 1951 [April 4, 1950], No. 7430/51. Class 40 (vi). A blocking oscillator comprises a discharge tube having an output electrode transformer coupled to the control grid and a negative feed-back impedance in the cathode. At least a portion of the voltage produced across the cathode impedance is applied to a second grid of the tube which is located between the control grid and output electrode so that the oscillator output pulses are rendered more constant in amplitude. The Figure shows a blocking oscillator in which the voltage pulses produced across the cathode resistor 5 are effectively fed to the suppressor grid 8 to reduce the flow of current to the anode, thus stabilizing the pulse amplitude.
