Abstract
587,940. Multivibrator oscillators. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd., and LEVY, M. M. May 26, 1944, No. 10306. [Class 40 (v)] In a multivibrator, a cathode follower valve V3 couples the output of one amplifier V1 to the control electrode of the other amplifier V2. The anode of valve V2 feeds, over a coupling condenser and grid resistance, the grid of valve V1. The circuit constants are arranged to cause valve VI to conduct normally, valve V2 conducting for only a short period to generate a pulse across the cathode load resistance. A cathode follower may also be inserted between valve V2 and V1. A resistance RB1 may be added to provide a positive bias for the grid of valve V1, when the valve will only be triggered by negative pulses. Specification 587,939 is referred to.
