Abstract

703,001. Cleaning arrangements in textile spinning &c. machines. EWART & SON, Ltd., W. Dec. 31, 1951 [Dec. 29, 1950];, No. 31549/50. Class 120(3) In a drawing or roving frame for collecting dust and waste falling from the material being treated, one or more open-topped receptacles having downwardly convergent inner walls are located beneath the fallers and each communicates through one or more outlet apertures in its base with a suction device for removal of the dust and waste. The apparatus shown in Fig. 1 comprises pairs of receptacles 1 the narrow, bases 4 of which are connected through pipes 5 to a conduit 6 which is progressively reduced in crosssectional area towards closed ends 7 and communicates through a pipe B with a suction device comprising an electric motor 9, fan 9A, and cyclones or like cen- . trifugal separators 9B. Fig. 3 shows a receptacle with convergent walls 10 and vertical walls 11 and apertures 1-2 leading to a suction conduit 13 which is reduced towards its closed end 14: the receptacle may be divided into compartments or formed of separate receptacles, Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown). As shown in Fig. 6 receptacles 22 and conduits 23 may be grouped with upper edges abutting and comprise notches as at 24 for the insertion cf a suction nozzle for overhead clearing of the outlet apertures.
