702,362. Perambulator handles; wheel arrangements. WRIGHT. H. CLAYTON-. April 2, 1951 [Jan. 6. 1950], No. 2047/52. Divided out of 702,323, [Group XXXI] Classes 108(1) and 108(2) In a wheeled attachment for cycles in which the limbs of a U-shaped handle are pivoted to the attachment so that the handle can be pivoted to fold the handle on the cycle attachment and also effect the lifting of a wheel or wheels from the ground, or pivoted into position for pushing the attachment when detached and also effecting the lowering of the wheel or wheels on the ground, the attachment comprises a chassis frame having a body mounted thereon, and the U-shaped handle forming a lever with a road wheel carrying arm, is mounted in a bearing or bearings fixed on the chassis frame. In the arrangement shown, road wheels 8, 8 at one end of a tubular chassis 1 are mounted on crank arms 4, 4 on an axle bar 2 rotatably mounted in a chassis tube 3. One wheel 8a is similarly mounted on a bar 6 within a tube 7 at the other end of the chassis and-a wheel 8b is also mounted on an arm 4a rigid with the chassis and supported by stays 9, 9. The bars 2 and 6 are coupled together by a connecting rod 13. A U-shaped handle 11 is fixed to the bar 2 and the arms 4 and is held in the raised position shown, corresponding to the lowered position of the wheels 8, 8 and 8a by toggle links 14. The chassis is fixed to the cycle by means of tubes which telescope into chassis tubes 16, between which the axis of the fixed wheel 8b lies. Specification 619,833 is referred to.
