Class 106(5) [Also in Group XXXIV] A device for delivering a predetermined amount of lubricant from a source under pressure comprises a cylinder 10 with an inlet 18 at one end and an outlet 22 at the other end, a piston 15 slidable in the cylinder and biased towards the inlet by means such as, for example a spring 16, a two-position valve 12 being provided so. that in one position of the valves lubricant is admitted to the cylinder to press the piston against the spring 16 and in the other position the supply of lubricant is cut off and a connection is made from the inlet end of the cylinder to the outlet end through a fixed tube 14 extending through the piston, whereby the piston, under the influence of the spring transfers the lubricant from the inlet end to the outlet end of the cylinder. The tube 14 communicates with the lower end of the cylinder by way of a port 20 and a 'recess 12b in the valve 12, when the valve is in the position shown'in Fig. 1. The piston 15 is provided with a rod 23 extending into a tube 24 formed with slots 26. 27. The rod has an adjustable indicator disc 25 which is visible through the slots when the piston 15 is in the uppermost and lowermost positions. The downward movement of the piston may be limited by an adjustable screw stop 28 or by a' rod adjustable axially by means of a rotatable cam.
