700,026. Gauging-apparatus. MANUFACTURE DE MACHINES DU HAUT-RHIN SOC. ANON. June 21, 1951 [Jan. 10, 1951'], No. 14747/51. Class 106 (2) An instrument for checking dimensions or tolerances in machined parts, permitting classification of the parts into groups corresponding to different tolerances, comprises a lever E, Fig. 1, with electric contacts G' and having at its end a spring F with contacts G<SP>2</SP>, these contacts cooperating with fixed contacts A, C and B, D in such a manner that if the lever, operated e.g. by a longitudinally movable feeler, is rocked from the central position shown in response to a dimension of a part to be checked, firstly a contact G<SP>2</SP> and, when the angle through the lever is rocked increases, a contact G', touches an associated fixed contact, the contacts controlling circuits to illumine lamps characteristic of each tolerance. As shown in Fig. 4, the contacts G' are replaced by a triangular contact H<SP>1</SP>, and the lamps, of different colours, are illuminated through circuits controlled by the contacts of relays R, S, T, U.
