Abstract
696,474. Colour photography. KODAK, Ltd. (Eastman Kodak Co., Richey, F. A., and Stott, J. G.). Dec. 19, 1950 [Sept. 19, 1949], No. 24072/49. Class 98 (ii). A multilayer material has a support as of cellulose ester, paper or glass and three superposed differentially colour-sensitive silver halide emulsion layers, that nearest the support being a usual bromide, bromochloride, bromiodide, or a blue-sensitized chloride or chlorobromide layer, and the remaining two layers being- red and green sensitized chlorobromide layers in which the percentage of bromide, calculated as silver bromide, to total silver halide is 10 to 40 per cent. Preferably the green-sensitized layer is furthest from the support. Couplers to produce subtractively coloured images may be included in the layers. The material is useful principally for printing, for camera use an ultra-violet filter over the lens or over the material is necessary, the blue-sensitive layer being exposed last. Two examples of preparation of the chlorobromide emulsions for the red- and green-sensitive layers, and a table showing the resolution of the material as compared with one having the blue-sensitive layer furthest from the support is provided. As blue-sensitizing dye 3: 3-diethyl-6: 7: 6<SP>1</SP>: 7<SP>1</SP>. dibenzthiacyanine chloride is quoted. Specification 541,589 is referred to.
