Abstract
694,557. Seats. LORENZ, A. Feb. 25. 1952 [March 9, 1951], No. 4845/52. Class 52(ii) A rocking and reclining seat including a back rest 34 and seat 30 each pivoted to a stationary support 20 a front link 44 and top link 38 is characterized in that a first connecting link 60 pivoted to the seat 30 at 64 and a second connecting link 50 pivoted to the front link 44 are pivotally connected to an auxiliary link 56 swing- ably pivoted to the support 20 at 58, a leg rest 48 being connected to a member of the link-system, in this case the front link 44. The first connecting link 60 may be pivoted to the auxiliary link 56 adjustably at 62 by means of a slot provided in the link 56. The seat may be locked in desired position by means of a screwed rod having a knob 70 adapted to clamp a bar 66, pivoted at 54 to a member of the link-system, against a U-shaped bracket 72 carried by the seat 30. In a modification the leg rests 48 may be pivoted to the seat and connected to the front link 44 by a roller or a further link. The auxiliary link 56 may be curved as shown or straight.
