Abstract

694,033. Couching webs from paper-making machines. WALMSLEYS (BURY), Ltd. March 19, 1951 [March 24, 1950], No. 7373/50. Class 96. A wet web 23 from the wire-cloth 11 of a Fourdrinier paper-making machine is transferred to a wet press felt 22 without substantial change of direction and with the aid of an intermediate felt or wire-cloth 14 guided about rolls 15, 17, 16. The roll 12 may be a suction couch roll, and rolls 13 and 16 may have grooved surfaces and may coact with airblowing boxes 19, 21 which facilitate transfer of the web to and from the intermediate belt 14 respectively. Specification 631,510 is referred to.
