Abstract
727,763. Wet press sections of paper-making machines. BELOIT IRON WORKS. Feb. 2, 1953, No. 2885/53. Class 96. The pulp web W on the wire-cloth 10 of a Fourdrinier paper-making machine, after passing over a suction couch roll 11 is taken off by a suction pick-up roll 17 and conveyed by a felt 15 to a wet press 24, the lower suction roll of which transfers the web W to a lower press felt 28 which conveys it to a roll 32 &c. having a high suction zone 34 for transferring the web to a third felt, and a low suction zone 36 for withdrawing water at the nip between the roll 32, and a Yankee dryer drum 35 from which the web W is doctored at 39. Trays are fitted adjacent to the four suction rolls 11, 17, 25 and 32.
