Abstract

A plant growth regulant and phytocidal composition contains 1,2-dihydropyridazine-3,6-dione or a salt thereof, a carrier therefor other than a solvent, and/or a wetting agent. The salts referred to are those of the alkali metals, ammonium, copper, zinc, calcium, barium, magnesium, iron, alkylamines, and akanolamines. Non-solvent carriers include mica, talc, pyrophyllite, clays or, in some cases water. Wetting agents include soaps, alkyl sulphonates, alkyl sulphates, sulphated and sulphonated ethers, sulphonated alkyl esters of long chain fatty acids, sulphonated glycol esters of long chain fatty acids, sulphonated alkyl substituted amides of long chain fatty acids, alkylated aryl sulphonates, hydroaromatic sulphonates, alkyl sulphosuccinates, aryl sulphonate-formaldehyde condensation products, monoethers of polyglycols with long-chain fatty alcohols or alkylated phenols, mono esters of polyglycols with longchain fatty acids, partial esters of polyhydric alcohols with long-chain monocarboxylic fatty or resin acids, partial and complete esters of long-chain monocarboxylic fatty or resin acids with polyglycol ethers of polyhydric alcohols, quaternary ammonium salts in which one of the groups attached to the nitrogen has an aliphatic group of at least 8 carbon atoms, and amines, amides, diamines and glyoxalidine having an aliphatic group containing at least 8 carbon atoms or their acid esters.
