692,770. Thermionic valves. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. March 14, 1952, No. 6737/52. Class 39(i) In a method of locking the cathode of an indirectly heated valve in its mounting in which the cathode 1 is passed through a hole in an insulating washer 2 until the washer is located against a stop 3 on the cathode, a strip of the projecting cathode is cut and bent back on to the washer,so as to fold the cathode firmly in contact with the washer. As shown in Fig. 1 two strips 4 may be curled back on to the washer; they are preferably curled in the form of spiral springs.
