691,272. Deaf aids; sets. CANADIAN BENAUDI CO., Ltd. Nov. 6, 1950 [Nov. 5, 1949; Feb. 10, 1950], No. 27121/50. Drawings to Specification. Class 40 (iv). A device for enabling a person hard of hearing to take part in telephone conversations comprises the combination with an amplifier and receiver means connected to the amplifier of a housing in the form of a flat box suitable for positioning beneath the base of a telephone instrument, inductive pick-up means in said housing, and circuit means connecting the pick-up means to the amplifier. The amplifier and receiver may be those of a conventional hearing aid, the pick-up means being used as an alternative source of currents to the normal microphone. Alternatively the amplifier may be contained in the flat box. U.S.A. Specification 2,134,084 is referred to.
