Class '75(i) [Also in Group XII] In a lime kiln or like furnace adapted to be fired by liquid fuel, a long. flame which does not overheat the kiln walls is obtained by discharging atomized fuel into a number of tuyere-like burners 33 disposed in a furnace wall 34 and supplied with combustion gases from a bustle pipe 31 formed with valve-controlled ducts 32 leading to the said burners. Each atoiiiizer 36 is formed with a spider 37 terminating in a cylindrical skirt 42 which leaves an annular space 43 between the skirt and the burner wall. The combustion gases are supplied either from the furnace itself or from another source.
