Abstract
1,027,888. Refuse burning furnaces. VON ROLL A.G. Nov. 11, 1963 [Nov. 12, 1962], No. 44494/63. Heading F4B. A steam generator furnace comprises a combustion chamber 2 for low-grade fuel, such as refuse, and a separate combustion chamber 4 for high-grade fuel, the flue gas from the highgrade fuel being led from above into the combustion gases issuing from the combustion chamber for low-grade fuel. Gases from refuse on a grate 1 pass from combustion chamber 2 to a down-pass 7, and gases from a combustion chamber 4 fired by a high-grade fluent fuel burner 3 pass into the upper part 5 of the down pass and are cooled by superheater surfaces 8 to mingle with the gases from chamber 2 in the lower part 7 of the gas pass. The chambers 2 and 4 are lined with water tubes extending through both chambers, and the down-pass 5, 7 is lined with continuous water tubes. From the pass 7 the mixed gases pass to an up-flow flue containing further heat exchange surfaces. A flue dust collector is arranged below the up-pass.
