Abstract
688.258. Gyratory crushers. NORDBERG MANUFACTURING CO. Sept. 25, 1951 [Oct. 27, 1950]. No. 22419/51. Class 59 [Also in Group XXVI] In a gyratory crusher in which the lower surface of the head 10, which is provided with a skirt 14, rests on the upper surface of a fixed bearing plate 12 mounted on a support 11, dust is excluded from the bearing surfaces by means of an annular chamber 20 provided on the support and bounded by an outer flange 21, the chamber and flange having secured thereto rings 30, 31, which overlap each other to provide a restricted throat which is associated with a sealing member 25 secured to the head, fluid, e.g. compressed air, oil, water, supplied to the chamber through a pipe 22 being directed upwardly and outwardly against the skirt. In a modification, Fig. 3, (not shown), the flange 21 is dispensed with and rings are detachably secured to the support, one of the rings having a further ring adjustably secured thereto so as to allow the exit throat of the chamber to be adjusted.
