Abstract
687,449. Filters. KNAPP & BATES, Ltd. May 5, 1951, No. 10621/51. 'Class 46 Rings or discs of woven fibrous material are disposed to form a solid sleeve around an apertured hollow conduit. A rigid tube 10 having apertures 10a disposed on a helical line is threaded at both ends to receive a threaded clamping member 11 at one end and a loose member 12 at the other retained by a nut 14. Discs 13 of woven fibrous material are secured between the members 11, 12. One end of the tube 10 is closed by a plug 15 while the other may be connected to a source of suction or of intermittent suction and pressure A number of such units may be mounted on a common support for ready movement into and out of a body of liquid to be filtered.
