Abstract

687,441. Viewing photographic transparencies. BERKLAND, J. C. March 30, 1951 [March 31, 1950], No. 7418/51. Class 98 (ii). [Also in Groups XV and XVIII] A rectangular frame 10 is made of hollow frame members 10a, 10b in one or more of which is housed a source of artificial light, the back of the frame being closed by a ground-glass plate 24 and the front of the frame being adapted to support the photographic transparency 21. The frame members take the form of prisms each having trapezium cross - section, the large parallel faces facing inward and the small parallel faces facing outward, and are mitred to fit together. The front faces 13 are chamfered. The light sources, e.g. electric lamps 15, are disposed, pointing in opposite directions, inside the frame members 10a. For cooling, slots are formed in the back of members 10a, 10b. Current leads are led through the slot in the lower member 10b and round the inside of the frame to the lamps. A U-shaped support may be pivoted to the back of the frame.
