Abstract

<PICT:0684185/IV (c)/1> Woollen garments, suspended in a chamber A, are treated with sulphur dioxide by burning sulphur in a recess C, air being fed in through a blower E. At the termination of the operation, an extractor fan (not shown) causes the sulphur dioxide to pass through a pipe G and diffuser M and thence through a solution of soda-ash L to absorb the gas.
