Abstract
684,178 8 Grasscutting machine. HAYTER, D. R., HAYTER, W. J., and HAYTERS, Ltd. March 8, 1951 [June 19, 1950]. No. 15317/50. Class 6 (iii). A grass-cutting machine of the type comprising a wheeled frame and a bladed cutting rotor carried on a vertical shaft rotatably mounted in the frame is characterised in that the rotor comprises a plate 12 provided with triangular blades 13 arranged horizontally at a level lower than and parallel to the central and major part of the underside of the plate, a fixed guard 19 surrounding the vertical shaft. As shown, three adjustably-mounted rotors are provided and are driven by belt gearing 33 from a shaft 35 driven from a tractor or alternatively from a power unit mounted on the machine. The rotors may be mounted in a two-wheeled frame provided with handlebars and a power unit.
