A masking frame for holding and locating sensitized paper during photographic projection printing comprises a base and one or more masks hinged thereto, the mask or each mask being provided with locating members for engaging apertures in the base, said locating members being bevelled or inclined to the under-side of the mask for contacting the edges of the paper and moving the latter into position as the mask is brought into position over it. As shown, the frame comprises a base a along one side of which a strip b is so secured as to provide a narrow groove between one edge of the strip and the base; one edge of the sensitized paper is seated within this groove. A rod c journalled on the strip b has rotatably mounted thereon masks d<SP>1</SP> ... d<SP>5</SP> of different sizes. Each mask is provided with tongues e having bevelled edges e<SP>1</SP> which engage the edges of the sensitized paper in conjunction with which the mask is to be used and move it into a central position as the mask is brought down over it. When each mask is closed, the tongues e thereon engage apertures f in the top plate a<SP>1</SP> of base a. Each mask may be held in its closed position by the provision of one or more spring-loaded detents 'for engagement with one edge of one or more of the tongues e on the mask. Another embodiment is described wherein the locating members are in the form of short strips having bent ends and wherein each mask is held in the closed position by a spring catch which is engaged by tongues provided on the under side of the top plate of the base.
