Abstract

682,362. Casing centralizers. BAKER OIL TOOLS, Inc. Dec. 18, 1950, No. 30819/50. Class 85 A device A for centering conduits B and the like in a well bore C has upper and lower longitudinally spaced collars 10, 11 between which extend and to which are attached a plurality of circumferentiaily spaced ribs 12. Each rib is made from a single sheet metal blank and is channel shaped in cross-section with a mid section 13 parallel to the axis of said collars and tapered end sections 14 for securing the mid section to the collars. An additional collar 30 may be provided in which case a set of ribs extends from the intermediate collar to each of the other collars, the sets of ribs being circumferentially offset with respect to each other so that they collectively extend around substantially the entire circumference of the device.
