Abstract
682,227. Electric incandescent lamps. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Jan. 25, 1951 [Jan. 28, 1950], No. 1927/51. Class 39(i) In an electric incandescent lamp having a glass envelope with at least one part 1 made of moulded glass, a tubular extension 4 integral with the part 1 is provided to receive at least two leading-in wires 6 and an exhausting-tube 7 which are sealed therein, with the wires 6 located at opposite sides of the tube 7. Leading-in wires or supports for a plurality of filaments, and supports for screens which may be associated therewith, may be arranged in a circle around the exhausting-tube and sealed within the tubuar extension 4. The inner face of the part 1 is usually paraboloidal or part-spherical and provided with a reflective coating 2. A filament 5 may be mounted up on leading-in wires 6 prior to the sealing of the latter within the tubular extension 4, and its position relative to the reflector may be adjusted while the glass is still plastic after sealing.
