Abstract

679,425. Machine guns. DANSK INDUSTRI SYNDIKAT COMPAGNIE MADSEN AKTIESELSKAB. Sept. 18, 1950. [Nov. 1, 1949] No. 22887/50. Class 92 (ii). Relates to machine guns of type in which the barrel 10 which recoils on firing, is bayonetlocked to the lock casing and is partly embraced by a fixed open-topped jacket 11 fitted with a muzzle recoil amplifier 12. According to the invention the recoil amplifier is bayonet locked, at 18, 19, to a reinforced part 11<SP>1</SP> of the jacket 11 in the same manner as the barrel is locked to the lock casing, and a tubular extension 12<SP>2</SP> of the amplifier has a lug 12 fitting into a longitudinal keyway in the barrel. By such an arrangement a suitable movement of a handle 24 releases both bayonet joints simultaneously. The amplifier shown includes a disc 14 with an opening 17 of chosen size, and a flash obscurer 16.
