Abstract
678,800. Filling bottles. BARFORD (AGRICULTURAL), Ltd. May 8, 1951 No. 10791/51. Class 125(ii). [Also in Group XXIX] In a bottling valve in which the liquiddelivery valve opening 11 is formed between an annular valve seat 5 on a vent tube 6, and a sleeve 4 slidable on a supply tube 1 and carrying the bottlemouth seating 12, a valve 9 controlled by movement of the seating 12 shuts off the supply to the tube 1 when the delivery opening is closed in order to prevent leakage between the sleeve and supply tube. Upward movement of the bottle 13 first moves the seating 12 and sleeve 4 away from the seating 5 against the spring 15. A sleeve shoulder 16 then abuts the end of guiding fins 7 attached to the vent tube to lift the tube and the valve 9 it carries away from its seating 10 on the supply vessel 3.
