Abstract
678,793. Brackets. BELLING & LEE, Ltd. May 2, 1951. No. 10336/51. Class 52 (v). [Also in Group XL (c)] A support for an aerial rod or mast 1 (see Group XL (c) comprises two bracket members 2 with clamping pieces 2a which carry eccentric bushes 9 rotatable to adjust the angular variation of the mast 1 from the vertical. Each bush has a central hole to fit the mast 1 and four different diameters referenced 10,11,12,13 respectively. The annular part 11 of each bush is eccetrically disposed with respect to the central hole and is embraced by the suitably shaped ends of members 2 and 2a. The bushes are rotatable in the brackets and on the mast 1. Thus, if the supporting fitting is not truly vertical, due, for example, to irregularity of brickwork in a chimney stack fitting as in Fig. 1 (not shown), the bushes may be relatively rotated until the mast 1 assumes a truly vertical position. The bolts 14 may then be tightened to clamp the mast 1 securely in position. The bushes are preferably of resilient material such as rubber but may be of non-resilient material or of metal in which case they must be slit longitudinally at one or more points if it is desired to contract them to grip the mast 1. Where the bushes are of metal or non-resilient material the eccentric part 11 of each bush may be formed as a part spherical surface so that the slight angular . movement of the axes of the bushes during adjustment does not cause twisting of the arms 2.
