Class 59 In a sugar cane mill, the headstocks 10 are provided with one or more bars 15 across the openings where the side rollers are fitted, which serve to hold the roller bearings 13 in position during assembly, i.e. before the side caps 17 have been fixed and during dismantling, i.e. after the side caps have been removed. The side caps are recessed to receive the bars which are fitted on to the outside faces of the headstocks and are shouldered on their inner faces to project slightly into the openings in the headstocks. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), the bars are inset within the openings in the headstocks, the top and bottom ends of the bars being located in holes in the top and bottom faces of the openings. Distance pieces are fitted between the bars and the side caps which in this case are of standard pattern.
