Abstract

901,944. Roll guides. SIEMAG SIEGENER MASCHINENBAU G.m.b.H. Feb. 9, 1961 [Feb. 12, 1960], No. 4796/61. Class 83 (4). Apparatus for guiding rolled material between two adjacent sets of rolls in a universal rolling mill comprises guides 5, 5a and 7, 7a pivotally mounted on removable carrying frames 4 and 6, the guides being held in a working position by a counterweight 10. When wedges 9 (Fig. 2), are removed from tie-rods 8 which hold the frames 4 and 6 to a baseplate 1, the counterweight and frames 4 and 6 may be lifted clear of the rolls by a hook 12, the guides pivoting to the position shown dotted in Fig. 1.
