Abstract

678,406. Nail brushes. KENT & SONS; Ltd., G. B. March 22, 1951 [March 22, 1950], No. 7190/50. Class 19. A hand and nail brush comprises a stock carrying tufts of bristles the ends of the bristles defining a front surface in which a groove is formed to receive the user's finger-tips. The groove may be segmented, semicircular or V-shaped in cross-section and may be straight, curved or wavy. If desired two or more grooves may be formed in the front surface. The stock may be V- shaped, arcuate or flat and the tufts are planted normal to the front surface of the stock. Figs. 1 and 3 represent a brush with a stock 10 having longitudinal grooves 13, 14 so as to be convenient to hold during use. The surface of the bristles forms two co-planar marginal portions, 24a and 24b, and an intermediate groove portion 24c, all of which extend for the full length of the brush. The term " bristles " includes any filamentary material normally used for brush tufts, including plastics.
