Abstract

705,725. Toothbrushes. BRITISH XYLONITE CO., Ltd., and SNELL, S. W. Oct. 30, 1952 [Nov. 29, 1951], No. 28032/51. Class 19 In a toothbrush in which the bristles are made of nylon, the diameter of the bristles lies between 0.007 and 0.009 inch, and the bristles are arranged in the brush back in tufts each containing between 200 and 320 bristles. As shown in Fig 1 the tufts are arranged in holes in the back of the brush having a square cross-section, the sides of each square being about 0.110 inch. The bristles are formed in pairs constituted by opposite ends of a length of nylon which is folded at its centre; thus each tuft comprises between 100 and 160 separate lengths of nylon. The holes in the back of the brush may alternatively be of circular cross-section. Specification 482,222 is referred to.
