Abstract

677,296. Washing-machines. HUSQVARNA VAPENFABRIKS AKTIEBOLAG. April 24 1950 [April 25, 1949], No. 10058/50. Class 138 (ii). The container 1 of a washing machine has an inclined bottom, and an agitator 2 which preferably comprises a disc having peripherally equidistant ribs or wings, arranged for unidirectional rotation in the top half of the container bottom. The inclination of the bottom of the container is less than 45 degrees with the horizontal. The agitator ribs may extend radially or tangentially from the hub or may be of curved form, Figs. 2, 3 and 4 (not shown). The agitator is driven by a wedge-shaped belt 6 and an electric motor 5 supported on a vertical mounting plate 4 secured to lugs 3 on the base of the container 1 and to the bottom 9 of an outer container 7 by means of one or more rubber insulated screws 11.
