Abstract
677,103. Pneumatic separating. SIMON (HOLDINGS), Ltd., H. Feb. 26, 1951 [April 3, 1950], No. 8257/50. Class 117 In an aspirator for cereal products the material is first treated in an air current of sufficient velocity to entrain as liftings all foreign matter and a proportion of sound products, and the liftings are subsequently deposited in a catch-box d and fed into a second air current which entrains only foreign matter, the latter being deposited in a second catch-box j through which the air from the first catch-box d passes to an exhauster. As shown the material is fed via a hopper a and an inclined plate b into a vertical duct c to meet a rising air current entering at e. The cleaned products drop to a discharge spout o and the liftings deposited in the box d are fed via a ramp g into a second air current rising through a duct h and entering at i. The sound products separated at this stage are discharged from a spout p either to the cleaned products or to be returned to the feed hopper a. The air currents from the ducts c and h pass into the second box j via regulating valves k and m respectively.
