Abstract
668,517. Hot-water boilers. HANTON, D. S. June 8, 1950 [June 17, 1949], No. 14275/50. Class 64(i) In a gas-heated water heater having a water jacket to the inner wall of which are attached the base portions of angle strips which form continuously and uniformly spaced fins 9, a longitudinal air gap 12 is formed between the base of each fin and the inner wall 6 to reduce heat conduction *and so maintain the base of each fin at a temperature above the dew-point of the hot gases. For this purpose, a longitudinal groove is formed in the base of each fin, as shown, or in. the adjacent part of the wall.
