Abstract

An oven, having heat-insulating material in its walls and heating means, such as pipes in which steam or hot water circulates, distributed in the said heat-insulating material, has within it an electric heater lamp or an electric radiator element. The supply of electrical energy to the heater lamp or radiator element is controlled by a thermostat so arranged that the radiated heat from the heater lamp or radiator element impinges on the thermostat. Thermostatic control may be used for the supply of heat energy to the heating means in the oven walls in order that the said walls may be maintained at a temperature slightly below the temperature of the oven.
