Abstract

The mixed water and electrical convertor heater is particularly for supply with lukewarm water by a heat pump, having a water heater body and a supplementary electrical heater body in the same housing. The water heater body is supplied with warm water from outside, and has no electrical resistance in the water passage or in contact with the water tube or its fins. The supplementary electrical resistance is of the conventional type, mounted in the convertor housing directly above the water heater body, but having no contact with it. The fins of the two heater bodies can be in the same vertical planes, or offset from each other. The resistance can be controlled by a thermostat reacting to ambient air temperature, and insulated from the chamber through which the hot gases flow.
